Phantoms making their mark with the National Hockey League
Five phantoms listed on NHL central scouting preliminary watch list
Youngstown, OH – The Youngstown Phantoms continue to impress at the highest level as five Phantom skaters were listed on the National Hockey League's Central Scouting players to watch list ahead of the 2023 NHL entry draft which will take place June 28-29 in Nashville, TN.
Defenseman, Andrew Strathmann (Beach Park, IL) and forward, Will Whitelaw (Rosemount, MN) highlight the group as "B" rated skaters which predicts them to be picked in the 2
nd-3
rd round of the 2023 NHL entry draft. Strathmann has started the season right with the Phantoms, producing 1 goal and 4 assists for 5 points in 5 games. Whitelaw has also often found his way onto the scoresheet with 3 goals and 2 assists for 5 points in 6 games.
Goaltender, Jacob Fowler (Melbourne, FL) along with forwards, Matthew Perkins (White City, SK) and Brandon Svoboda (Level Green, PA) were all ranked as "C" skaters which tabs them as 4
th-7
th round picks in the draft.
These players look to join the five current Phantoms NHL draft picks in Shane LaChance (Edmonton Oilers, 2021 6
th round, 186 overall), Tomas Machu (New York Islanders, 2021 7
th round, 221 overall), Michael Fisher (San Jose Sharks, 2022 3
rd round, 76 overall), James Fisher (Columbus Blue Jackets, 2022 7
th round, 203 overall), and Reese Laubach (San Jose Sharks, 7
th round, 217 overall).

The Phantoms hit the road to Plymouth, MI this Thursday, October 27
th and Friday, October 28
th to face-off vs the USA National Team Development Program and will return to the Covelii Centre on November 11
