YOUNGSTOWN, OH – The Youngstown Phantoms have acquired forward Stephen Cover and a 2027 Phase I 10th-round draft pick from the Madison Capitols in exchange for Wyatt Finkenkeller, Chris Sawyer, a 2027 Phase I fifth-round pick, a 2027 Phase II fifth-round pick and future considerations.
 
"We are excited to welcome Stephen to the Phantoms organization," said Phantoms President of Hockey Operations and Co-General Manager Jason Deskins. "Stephen is a highly intelligent player who brings a strong 200-foot game and the ability to produce offensively. His experience in the league and in playoff environments is something we value highly. He impacts the game in all three zones, and his offensive instincts and playmaking ability are hard to find. We couldn't be happier to add him to the lineup, and we look forward to seeing the impact he will make in Youngstown."
 
Cover appeared in 60 games for Madison last season after signing a tender with the Capitols prior to the year. He recorded 11 goals and 23 points in those 60 games and added two points during Madison's run to the Eastern Conference Final. Before joining the USHL, Cover won back-to-back national championships at Mount St. Charles Academy. The Harrisburg, Pa., native is committed to Providence College.
