PHANTOMS ACQUIRE DANIEL JENCKO FROM THE MALMO REDHAWKS

Jencko Joins the Phantoms in their Quest for Clark Cup

Youngstown, Ohio -- The Youngstown Phantoms are proud to announce the acquisition of Slovakian forward, Daniel Jencko, from the Malmo Redhawks of the Swedish J20 Nationell hockey league.

Jencko, a 6-foot, 185-pound forward from Humenne, Slovakia, comes to the Phantoms after posting 23 points on 11 goals and 12 assists, in his first 20 contests with Malmo, while also playing in 2 games for the Redhawks SHL team.

Phantoms GMs, Jason Deskins and Ryan Kosecki stated "Daniel is a player that brings a ton of skill, speed, and hockey sense to our team.  He makes plays in small areas and creates opportunities with his feet and mind due to his skating ability and intelligence.  Playing 34 international games for Team Slovakia, while scoring 23 points versus top end competition, gives him an advantage when it comes to being prepared to play in the USHL.  Daniel will bring experience and scoring while providing significant help on the power play for us.  We are excited for him to get to Youngstown and look forward to him wearing a Phantoms sweater".

Phantoms Head Coach, Ryan Ward stated "We are excited to have Daniel join the fold.  He is a great player that should make a significant impact for us immediately.  He makes our team better and adds another layer of experience and offense that is hard to find in this league.  We are all very pleased with the addition of Daniel".

Jencko will make his Phantoms debut on Saturday, November 18th in Chicago, vs the Steel as the club looks to build on their momentum gained since the USHL Fall Classic.

The Phantoms are back at the Covelli Centre next week as they host the USA National Team Development Program on Friday, November 24th at 7:05pm. Get your tickets to see these future STARS by calling (330) 747-PUCK!
