YOUNGSTOWN, OH – The Clark Cup Champion Youngstown Phantoms have added USHL veteran, and former Phantom, Owen Bartoszkiewicz from the University of Minnesota to their roster for the upcoming 2023-2024 season. Bartoszkiewicz, who the Phantoms drafted in the 7th round of the 2020 Phase II draft, played for Youngstown in the first half of the 2021-22 season before departing for the University of Minnesota. Bartoszkiewicz looks to help fill the void left behind after Jacob Fowler, the USHL Goaltender of the Year and the 2023 Clark Cup Final's Most Outstanding Player, departed for Boston College to begin his NCAA career.

Bartoszkiewicz, who hails from Northville, Michigan, spent the past season-and-a-half with the University of Minnesota Golden Gophers, appearing in six games with a 3.72 GAA and a .883 Save Percentage. Prior to that Bartoszkiewicz played 12 games for the Phantoms, finishing with a 3.32 GAA and a .899 Save Percentage. He posted a shutout in his final appearance for the Phantoms, a 3-0 win over the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders on January 8, 2022. In the 2020-2021 season Owen played for the Wichita Falls Warriors in the NAHL, playing an astounding 41 games while posting a 2.44 GAA and a .917 Save Percentage.  Bartoszkiewicz played youth hockey in the Detroit Area. 

Head Coach Ryan Ward had this to say about getting Owen back from college: "We are excited to add Owen back to our team. Owen is a tremendous talent that wants to work and be a leader of his teammates. 'Bart' is going to be a huge addition to our locker room both as a player and a person. We are thrilled he is a Phantom again. He will be a major asset to us throughout the season and playoffs."

Bartoszkiewicz added, "When I first came here, I wanted to win for the organization. I'm super excited to come back to the Phantoms to help achieve that goal. Seeing what the team just accomplished gives me the fuel to push to go back-to-back. It's not going to be easy, as this league is so competitive, but I am prepared to do my part to try to make it happen"
