YOUNGSTOWN, OHIO — The Youngstown Phantoms have agreed to a Phase I tender with 2010-born left-shot forward
Austin Hall, an elite offensive talent from the Honeybaked Hockey Club 15U program.
Hall, a Livonia, Michigan, native, joins the Phantoms after a standout season in which he was named Most Valuable Player of the OHL Cup and led Honeybaked in scoring across all major events. A consistent difference-maker, Hall combined high-end skill, hockey sense and competitiveness to produce at an elite rate against top-tier competition. He finished the season with 69 goals and 117 assists for 186 points in 89 games. His 186 points were the most among 15U AAA players nationwide, according to EliteProspects.com.
"Austin is a high-end offensive player who has proven he can perform and produce in the biggest moments," said Phantoms co-general manager
Jason Deskins. "His ability to create offense, his instincts with the puck and his competitiveness make him a great fit for how we want to play. We're excited about his future and what he brings to our group."
Hall said he is eager to take the next step in his development with Youngstown.
"I'm honored to be tendered by the Youngstown Phantoms," Hall said. "It's a great organization with a strong development path, and I'm excited for the opportunity to compete in the USHL. I'm looking forward to getting to Youngstown and getting to work."
Hall has also signed the new USHL Standard Player Development Agreement (SPDA). The SPDA formalizes expectations that already define the USHL experience, including academic support, strength and performance resources, billet family housing, travel support, mental wellness services and access to elite coaching and competition. It also introduces standardized player benefits such as defined travel support, offseason training reimbursement, accredited secondary education support and career-ending injury insurance reimbursement. The agreement reinforces league-wide standards to ensure consistent development support across every USHL market.
Hall's addition continues the Phantoms' commitment to identifying and developing elite young talent with high-end upside and compete. By signing Hall, Youngstown surrenders its first-round pick in the upcoming Phase I draft on May 4.
